Who holds your details

What we collect
Only what you choose to send us. If you use the enquiry form, that is your name, your email address, your telephone number if you give one, the week you asked about, the number of guests, your message, and whether you asked to hear about special offers.
If you only read the site, we collect nothing about you at all. There is no account to create, no newsletter sign-up beyond that one tick box, and no form anywhere else on the site.
Why we hold it, and on what basis
To answer your enquiry, and then, if you decide to come, to arrange your stay. For an enquiry that is your consent, which is what the tick box on the form records. Once you have booked, we hold what we need to perform the booking itself.
We only send offers to people who asked for them. You can tell us to stop at any time and we will, without asking why.
Who else sees it
Your enquiry is not stored on this website. It is delivered straight to our email inbox, and it lives there like any other email.
Two companies handle it on the way:
- Resend (Resend, Inc., United States) delivers the message from the form to our inbox.
- Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., United States) hosts the site and runs the small piece of code that hands the form to Resend.
Both act only on our instructions and neither uses your enquiry for anything of their own. Because both are based in the United States, your details leave the European Economic Area, and that transfer relies on the standard contractual clauses in our agreements with them.
Nobody else receives your details. We do not sell them, share them with other chalets or agencies, or use them for advertising.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don’t lead to a booking are deleted after 24 months, so that we still recognise you if you come back to us a season or two later. If you book, the booking and payment records are kept for ten years, which is the period French accounting law requires.
Cookies and tracking
The site sets no cookies of its own, and there is no analytics, advertising or tracking script on any page. Cloudflare, as our host, may set a strictly necessary cookie to protect the site against automated abuse.
The films in the gallery ask nothing of YouTube until you press play. Until then a film is a still picture served from this site and a button. Press play and the video loads from YouTube’s no-cookie player, which is the point at which YouTube receives your IP address, because that is how the video reaches you. If you never press play, YouTube never hears from you.
The map on the location page works the same way. What you see first is a still map, drawn from OpenStreetMap data and served from here. Open the interactive version and it loads from Google Maps, which is when Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies. If you never open it, Google never hears from you.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict what we do with it, object to our holding it, or ask for it in a portable form. Email info@latillette.com and we will answer within a month.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you can complain to the CNIL, the French data protection authority, at cnil.fr.
Changes
If this page changes, the new version simply appears here. The site is published from a version-controlled repository, so the history of what it said and when is a matter of record.
